Welcome
On the 15th of October 1871, the magnificent Rotunda Church was consacrated. Later, on the same day the Band of Mosta made its debut. Since then the Nicolò Isouard band kept going, passing through numerous experiences. 139 years have passed since that day and the Nicolò Isouard Band looks back at its beautiful history, seeing that it always struggled to hold up high its name and that of Mosta, to honour the Blessed Virgin, and to teach and improve in the musical art. For the years to come, the Nicolò Isouard Band will continue what was started 139 years ago and try to never lead astray from its original purposes, for which it was born.

This year the Nicolò Isouard Philarmonic Society is celebrating its 140th year. The Society organized a number of events to commemorate this year. The first event was a musical concert on the 8th of January, with the participation of the Nicolò Isouard Band and Choir. The band was directed by Mro. Stephen Dimech the assistant band master. Epiphany Concert On the 16th of April our Society organized a sacred music concert for Holy Week. The Band will be under the direction of Band Master Emeritus, Mro. Victor Zammit. Sacred Concert The 140th Anniversary celebrations will conclude on Saturday 22nd October with the Annual Concert. This year's concert will include Fanfare For An Occasion composed by local bandsman Twanny Borg and a solo performance by Josef Camilleri on Horn, also a local bandsman. The Nicolò Isouard Band will also play the Masquerade Suite by Khachaturian, played for the first time by a concert band. Other pieces are from important composers such as Wagner, Verdi, Nicolò Isouard and Korsakov. The concerts presented by the Nicolò Isouard Band are known to be of an excellent musical level. This is due to the fact that the Musical Director Emanuel Spagnol together with the bandsmen work hard and rehears for long to obtain the best of restuls.
